To The Grosse Ile Herb Society
We are an educational society to help the community learn and experience the value of nature and herbs.
The Grosse Ile Herb Society maintains two gardens a Children's Discovery Garden which is located at the Grosse Ile Centennial Farm and an Historical Herb Garden located at the Grosse Ile Custom's House. Through the nurturing and development of these gardens we have created a "hands on" interactive outdoor classroom for children and adults of all ages.
On Saturday May 17th, 2008, we will host our 8th Annual Herb Fest.
This year's theme is Southwest Fiesta featuring a giant herb and perenniel sale and many activities, including the Old Spice Trading Post, herbal tastings, the Southwest Deli, unique art and gift exhibitors, children's activities and more.
We also participate in many community and recreational events
including Fall Harvest Days, Island Fest and many local
educational and historical events.
